We’ve included our frequently asked questions related to Motability below – if your query isn’t among them, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Yes, Motability allows a named driver, such as a family member or carer, to drive the vehicle on behalf of the qualifying disabled person. However, you will need to be listed on that person’s insurance policy, and you’ll need to meet with certain age and driving-history criteria.

In most cases, the cost of leasing a Motability vehicle is covered by the mobility allowance you receive, with no additional payments required. However, Advance Payments may be required for more expensive vehicles.

At the end of your lease agreement, you have the following options:

  • Choose to lease another vehicle through Motability
  • Extend your current lease if your circumstances allow
  • Return the vehicle and exit the scheme

Please note that any mileage over the agreed limit may incur additional charges, and the vehicle needs to be returned in good condition.
